Sick Leave Medical Certificate

If you're unable to attend work due to illness or injury, your employer may ask you to provide a medical certificate. At Tahunanui Pharmacy, our pharmacists can issue sick leave certificates for certain conditions, where the illness or injury falls within the scope of our professional expertise.

Who Is This Service For?

This service is for people living and working in New Zealand who have experienced a mild illness or injury and require a medical certificate for their workplace. If your condition is outside a pharmacist's scope to assess, we will refer you to your doctor or another appropriate healthcare professional.

How We Can Help

Our pharmacists can assess your condition and, where appropriate, issue a medical certificate confirming you are unfit for work. Certificates can be issued for absences of up to 3 days. For longer periods off work, a physical examination by your usual doctor or clinician will be required.

Before visiting, we recommend confirming with your employer that a pharmacist-issued certificate is acceptable.
